Milestones

In 1966 Baalbaki Real Estate Co. was established for the purpose of acquiring real estate for long term lease and investment. In the same year a residential building on lot 2572 Ras Beirut Lebanon was developed for the purpose of rent.

In 1968 BRE bought a 110,000 sqm touristic project in Bormes Les Mimosas, France

In 1972 BRE developed a 5,300 sqm touristic project in Berge Neustadt, Germany.

In 1974 BRE developed a 1,850 sqm commercial building on lot 1918 Ras Beirut. Due to its prime location and proximity to the American University Hospital, the building was leased as offices, doctors clincs and retail outlets.

In 1979 BRE acquired a 2000 sqm plot of land in Zarka Jordan and developed an 5,000sqm industrial/commercial complex for re-sale.

In 1984 BRE acquired plot number 452 in Jabal Amman Jordan and developed a 1,500sqm building that was first leased to the Japanese Embassy and later sold to the Canadian Embassy.

In 1987 BRE developed a 8,000sqm covered warehouse complex and cold rooms project in the suburbs of Damascus – Syria over a 16,000sqm land.

In 1992 BRE started buying plots in Damascus Syria to establish an industrial zone on the International Highway between Amman and Damascus. Phase I of the project which included setting up the zone's infrastructure and constructing 50,000 sqm on of covered space on a 150,000 sqm property was completed in 2005. Phase II which includes an additional 30,000 sqm of covered space on a 167,000 sqm industrial was completed in 2010.

In 1997 BRE acquired lot 144 Ras Beirut with the aim of developing a residential area to serve the American University & Hospital community. During the years 1998 to 2005, BRE acquired lots 144, 145, 147, and 489 Ras Beirut which are located in the same neighborhood. Plots 145 and has already been renovated and developed into a residential building. Plot 147 was developed into a residential building with 175 sqm apartments for the purpose of lease.

Today Baalbaki's major real estate and investment projects are focused on Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, France, Germany, UK, Egypt, Iraq, & UAE
